2.

In continuation of my Application, I have to seek through you your kind permission in allowing me to forward this my appeal to the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies for reconsideration.

3.

I joined the Force on the 2nd September 1882, and came out, with twenty-three others on the same terms of agreement. Some of whom brought their wives with them whilst others subsequently applied to the Government for passages which were granted.

4.

As I was the first one to get married in this Colony, of the batch that arrived here with me, and joined the Force, I was issued with an order to the effect, that no member of the Force under the rank of sergeant be allowed to marry unless the Right Honourable the Secretary of State's permission was first obtained, - leads me to apply to you, to ask it is through the Officers Administering the Government, to be good enough to forward this my Appeal for the favourable Consideration of the Secretary of State. And at the same time to apply than You will kindly recommend me for quarters, or in lieu an allowance, as applied for in my first application of the 21st Ultimo.

5.

I may give as a reason before for my marrying previous to obtaining the Secretary of State's permission (in accordance with the regulations) that my time would have left the Colony the necessary six months must have elapsed in obtaining that permission.

I have the honour to be

Sir,

Your Most Obedient Servant,
